Why are bits anonymous?

We believe that wisdom is the common property of all people, regardless of age, gender, identifying avatar or username. Basically, we think it's really important that you take people's thoughts at face value.

Hey, wait a minute. If bits are anonymous, why do I sign up and enter personal info?

  • We ask that you sign up so you can keep a journal of the bits you submit and favorite bits that you love and look at them later. And we need a way to contact you if your bit is flagged as inappropriate by the community. We also like to call people by what their momma named 'em. Or whatever variation thereof you prefer.
  • We ask for age, gender, and location so we can make pretty data visualizations for everyone to enjoy. No one at BitWisdom will know which bits you submit and only the administrator will have access to your contact information.
  • We will never sell or distribute personal login information to other entities.
  • We reserve the right to use bits you publicly submit to use for advertising, marketing and design reasons. We think any bit you submit privately should be kept private and we will not use them.
