When you live, you experience. When you experience, you reflect. When you reflect, you learn. Why not share that?

What is BitWisdom?

BitWisdom is a microjournaling website that allows users to create anonymous "bits" of wisdom in a two-step reflection process. You come up with something you recently finished - be it a hyped-but-disappointing sandwich, a restorative vacation, or a toxic friendship - and reflect on what you learned from the experience in 150 words or less.

What's our philosophy?

We are experimenting with the democratization of wisdom and the life-long learning potential of self-reflection. We believe in anonymous wisdom. Like one of our users said, "I don't want to disturb others' thoughts with my own interpretation." That's why we don't allow commenting. If you like a bit, favorite it. If you don't, move along.

Why is it anonymous?

The Interwebs are full of places to promote products, celebrities, ideologies, and free iPods. We created BitWisdom to provide users with a brand-free, judgment-free space to explore meaningful, contemplative thoughts on the momentous and mundane moments of life. Check out our privacy page on how we do and don't use the data.

Why should I create an account?

When you create an account with us, you can save your bits of wisdom, read others' bits and rate them, and create reflection groups to collect bits around specific topics.

Where did BitWisdom come from?

BitWisdom is a high resolution, evolving prototype that began as a project from the Designing Media That Matters class at the d.school at Stanford University. It continues to change as we receive feedback from our users. Have feedback for us? Shout it out.
